While some theories suggest a connection to a Finnish footballer or even a mispronounced Cliff Richard merchandise idea, a more plausible, and perhaps the most recent, explanation from Ben suggests it’s a “marriage of two words: Biffy is the nickname of the spy the James Bond novels were based on, and Clyro is a village in Wales where both our families used to go on holiday.” Whatever the true story, it has certainly become a fan theory talking point.
