The band’s journey began in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany, in 2010, initially under the name Eskimo Callboy. The founding members, including vocalists Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler and Kevin Ratajczak, guitarists Daniel Haniß and Pascal Schillo, bassist Daniel Klossek, and drummer Michael Malitzki, quickly carved out a niche with their unique sound. Their early releases showcased a raw fusion of metal’s intensity with electronic dance music, a style that would become their signature. A notable shift occurred in 2012 when David Friedrich replaced Michael Malitzki on drums, further solidifying their lineup.
In March 2022, the band officially rebranded themselves as Electric Callboy. This decision was made to address concerns surrounding the potentially offensive connotations of their previous name, reflecting their commitment to inclusivity and broader appeal. This rebranding coincided with the release of their most successful album to date, TEKKNO, which not only topped charts in Germany but also saw them gain significant traction globally. TEKKNO features fan favourites like “We Got the Moves,” “Pump It,” and “Spaceman,” showcasing their continued evolution and mastery of the partycore sound.
