Bad Omens spent years being quietly slept on before "The Death of Peace of Mind" cracked things wide open in 2022. Norfolk, Virginia outfit, formed around 2015, built their name on a specific tension between heavy post-hardcore riffing and genuinely melodic choruses that don't feel like a compromise. Noah Sebastian's vocal range does real work live, and their 2023 touring cycle behind that record proved the songs translate to rooms that were suddenly much bigger than anyone expected. The self-titled debut and "Finding God Before God Finds Me" documented the earlier, rougher version of the band, worth knowing if you want to trace how the sound evolved.
Merch-wise, the "Death of Peace of Mind" era produced the strongest designs Bad Omens have put out so far. The darker, almost clinical aesthetic with heavy use of black, white, and deep reds photographs well and actually gets worn outside of show days, which matters. Long-time fans tend to grab the older skull-heavy stuff from the self-titled cycle first out of loyalty, but the newer cuts hold up better as actual garments.
